What is remakan?
remakan is a private food journal app for Malaysia. You save the dishes you eat with a photo, a rating, and a note, rate each dish and each place separately, and find them again.
Is it free?
Yes. remakan is free to download and use, and there are no ads.
Is remakan a calorie counter?
No. remakan is not a calorie counter or a diet app. It does not count calories. It helps you remember what you ate and where.
Who can see my journal?
Only you. Other people cannot see your ratings, notes, or photos. When you share a place by link, the link shows only Google's public details for that place.
Do I need friends or an invite?
No. There is no invite code, and remakan has no friends list or feed. It works the same when you use it alone.
Do I need a phone number?
No. Sign in with Apple or Google. There is no password and no phone number.
Is it on Android?
Yes. remakan is on Google Play for Android phones and on the App Store for iPhone.
Is it the same as ReMeal?
No. ReMeal is a different app, for surplus food. remakan is a private food journal, and it is not connected to ReMeal.
What does the name mean?
re·makan: to eat it again. Makan is the Malay word for eat. The name is not the Indonesian word "remakan" (a remake).
Does it work outside the Klang Valley?
Yes, anywhere in Malaysia. Places come from Google search, or you add them by hand, so a stall in Kota Bharu or Kuching works the same as one in KL.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open My Account and choose Delete account. We delete your account, journal, and photos at once.
